My fella works at at the UIC. He's a cancer researcher in the Pathology Dept.. Last January he was given a letter stating his contract will not be

Renewed 8/15/08. The reason, verbally, was no funding for research . He believes it is due to his publicly stated views as an Aids Dissident. A free speach issue, he believes. He wants to fight it, but believes the fact that UIC will disclose that they granted him a leave, that he requested, to go into Alcohol Rehab.. He doesn't want it public record which will affect his chances of a job elsewhere. He's received only praise for his work and it was never suggested, that his problem affected his work, ever. Can this alcohol rehab. be brought up legally if he files a suit? Isn't this type of leave confidential?

If there is no money, there is no money. He could fight it, and maybe win, but if there is no money, it wouldn't matter.

That is something that he should consult a lawyer over as to if they can bring it up.

Thanks, but I thought someone with a legal background may be able to answer this for me. That's why I asked that specifically. Please, if anyone knows the answer.
