What other type of work can be done with a foreign dental degree

My wife is a foreign dentist living here in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. There is only one dental school in our area, and moving to another area is not an option. Our research has shown us that basically she would have to start all over (7 more years) in order to practice "General Dentistry". She has chosen, instead, to continue with an Orthodontics program (also offered here in the same school), which is only three years. Since she has chosen this route, it basically means that she can no longer practice general dentistry (at least in the U.S.)

She has already completed all the necessary procedures that would allow her to apply to this school (currently awaiting for a phone call from the school for an interview and to learn if she will be accepted into the Ortho program or not).

My question is this: If she does not get accepted, what type of work can she persue? It does not have to be dental related. I even mentioned working at a hospital or a healthcare company, but doing what...I don't know. Kindly keep in mind that she has been a practicing dentist with her own polyclinic for over 7 years.

Any advice would greatly help my wife and I. Unfortunately my advice can only carry so much weight because I'm a licensed U.S. Customs broker/International Freight Forwarder.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and looking forward to hearing your thoughts/ideas.

Regards!

Dental Assistant? How about attending courses for a related field at a college, university, or technical school? The courses would not be difficult for a graduate of dental school, and she could find work that interested her. She may need English classes first if she is not very fluent.
