I am not to sure what the rules in Texas are, But with any job it is considered a courtesy to give two weeks. During that two weeks it gives the company time to hire and train an employee to take your place. The other benefit of giving two weeks is if you are ever out of a job chances are they will hire you back.

I have worked in Payroll for a couple of different companies in Dallas/ Fort Worth. It all depends on the company. One company I worked for did not pay any vacation and or sick time if you were terminated, resigned or were Rif'd (reduction in force). Even if a two weeks notice was given. The company I was just termed from due to layoffs, does pay vacation regardless of how you are termed or if you provided a two weeks notice. So its my understanding it depends on how the company sets up their guidelines. Hope this helps

Every company is different, but if you leave in good standing, then you should be able to get any benefits you deserve.
