Does an employer have to pay drive time and mialege

I work for a consultant i use my personal truck and they pay mialege and drive time from the office to job site since i use my truck to carry equipment. on a prevailing wage job my employer is telling me they do not have to pay mialege or drive time from office to the job. I dont expect to be payed from my house to office

An employer isn't required to pay drive time, mileage, gas or maintenance for travelling from the office to job sites. If they don't, you can track that mileage - it qualifies as a tax deduction at the rate of 52 cents per mile!
