The company I work for said I took a vacation and never came back and now I can't get unemployment.

I work for an agency and in December of last year my hours were cut so I received unemployment. Then the agency sent me on a job and I was dropped from unemployment which was good because I was making more money. Then I signed up for unemployment in July because the assignment that I was given I need a car to get to, I no longer could go because I was in a car accident, that was not my fault and had no car as a result. I told my employer that I could work any where I could take Bart or a bus. I have done that before with that company in the past. I wasn’t getting any calls. I signed up with unemployment because I wasn’t getting any work and they denied me because they said that the company I was working for said that I went on vacation and never came back to work, I did take a week at that time and they knew about it and I did call when I came back but now they don't remember. now they say, I went on vacation and never came back or I took a leave or I was fired none of those things happen. Do I have any recourse? I have worked for that company for 31/2 years and never had any problems.
