Union representation

I was working at a nursing home,i'm an lpn, and joined the union there. there was an argument between myself and a cna at the nurses desk. i was suspended for 4 days and then fired. according to the union handbook whenever there is any reason for disciplinary action a union representative is to be with you or accompany you to the meetings. all of this was done by phone. when i was suspended i was called on the phone and there was no union representation. no union rep contacted me prior to the subsequent termination phone call. while the union rep was on the conference call when i was fired he did not speak up for me but agreed with management. i filed a grievance but it took almost a month for a meeting to be scheduled and the union rep was at the meeting though i specifically said i did not want him there. after hearing my side and the administrators side the union person said she would be able to get me a resignation instead of termination. i don't feel that i was represnted well. is this a case to complain about to the labor relations board?also i know of at least 2 other nurses who argued with resident family members so that they were moved to other floors but i was fired for arguing with a cna who started the argument.is this discrimination?
