When should an employee receive their annual review.

My annual review is due on January 29th, 2008 - this is my anniversary (hire date -

Today is March 17, 2008, my review was due on 1/29/08 - I sent an e-mail to my supervisor, at the end of February, asking when my review would take place - I never received a response - I sent another e-mail on 3/06/08 - this time I received a response - It said that he was busy, and that he was also taking three days of vacation - he has been back since 3/13/08 - I have yet to hear anything -

When should this review have taken place - when I do receive this review, and say I do receive a salary increase, should it be retro back to January 29, 2008 -

Thank-You

You need to talk with your boss about your review. only he can set that up and do it.

And I doubt you will get retroactive pay for the last 2 months with your pay increase. you could ask for a slightly hire pay increase to make up for the the last 2 months over the course of the next 10 months so that you would make the same amount next year, going into your next annual review.

I have been in management my whole career and it does depend on what it says in your employee manual if you have one. However, most normally you would have your review at the time around your anniversery date. Yes your raise should be rectroactive and I would ask for it. I would continue to approach your supervisor. Always be professional but don't give up. He knows he has to do this, however it seems as if he is too busy to carry out sll his responsibilities. If you still get nowhere then you might have to go to his supervisor. But be sure you documented everything., dates, times, meetings, requests, what was said. Document, document, document and then you will have something to bring with you when you meet with his supervisor and your supervisor written information about what you have encountered with your supervisor and for how long. You are entilled to your review and possibly a raise don't give up. I hope I helped.
