Just how much does a Conservator of Person cover?

My sister is Conservator of Person for our father. My sister and I live in different states; we are estranged. I will be sending packages to my father but now she has put a request at the Nursing Home Nurses station that all packages sent to our father ( I am the ONLY one who would be sending anything via U.S. Mail) should be held til she can open the package and determine that there is no candy in the packages. I sent him one package with candy because no one told me he was NOT to have candy--he is a borderline diabetic. All this is being done just to show me that she is in control, blah, blah, blah. I can foresee lots of "controls" coming up in the future. Would just like to know does she have limits on his mail, gifts to him, etc.

Most conservators have a power of attorney which spells out what they can actually do as far as representing someones interests. if your sister has complete control over your father's affairs, there really isn't anything you can do. Unless she is limited to what decisions she can and cannot make on your father's behalf and if she was appointed legally there really isn't much you can do.
