Bankruptcy

I paid my bankruptcy lawyer in March in full, called him and he said it will be completed in June. Called and left messages. Finally met with him two weeks ago and it has not been filed yet. I had to get him current check stubs and it hasnt been filed yet. What should I do?

Tell him to fish or cut bait - give him five days to file or refund your money and go see another lawyer.

If that's an indication of the kind of lawyer that this guy will be, when he represents you in bankruptcy court, you're already in trouble. Get a different lawyer and demand a refund of your retainer. The lawyer may try to keep your retainer, and it's a losing battle, but honestly, do you want a guy like that representing you in court?

I just found out the lawyer is not suppose to be practicing law as of May, i just went to his office on Oct. 3rd. Now I have to file the complaint with the Bar Association and fill out another form to try and recover my money.
