Can I double park in cambridge, ma just to unload my car and to bring my 9 month old daughter up stairs?

I got a ticket for double parking after i just finished unloading and bring my 9 month old daughter up the stairs. I live on a one way two laned road. The follow of traffic is still there all everyone has to do is slow down and two cars can still get by. Long story short this officer had a chip on his shoulder and because i didnt sa yes sir yes sir, i defended myself. Then he started atacking me personaly cause i have veterans plate and was in the marine corps. He was way out of line and i couls sue but not going to. i am not like that and i talked to his lt right after this incident. i did nothing wrong and only stayed there just to unlaod. i was in the drives seat stuck at a red light when he told me not to go anywhere gave me the parking ticket and flung it on my dash.
