Capital One sued me but they are in the wrong, what can I do?

I had a Capital One account several years ago, and I purchased the optional Payment Protection Plan that was supposed to protect me in the event I became unable to make payments. Well after some time of having the account the company I worked for closed down and instead of the PPI protecting me, my $400 credit limit turned into a several thousand dollar bill. Capital One refused to close my account, meanwhile adding new fees to my account on a monthly basis. Now Capital One has sued me, I was unable to appear in court for lack of advanced notice, and now they want the personal info of everyone in my household (even the children!), what can I do? HELP?!?
