On a job app, it does not matter. I felony is worse than a misdemeanor the class of misdemeanor does not matter on job app. Unless it is an M1 DV. Sometimes that will matter. I live in Ohio I know what you are talking about. Yes any violent misdemeanors hinder a job. You just have to keep looking and let time pass by. In four to six years it will no longer matter, as you can get it expunged.

No it cannot. He is right an assault is an M1 too he is right again. I forgot about the first offense expunge laws. Misdemeanors of first degree or felonies where victim is under the age of 18 cannot be expunged. Here check this site out. http://expungement.uslegal.com/expungement-of-criminal-records/ohio-ex pungement-law/
It should help you.
I have a trumped up dv from a fight with my dad, I found after enough time passes by they no longer hold it against you. Just do what I do. Say I was young and dumb, be honest and truthful. Then your employer will have no reason not to hire you. Hope this helps.

Violent misdemeanors in Ohio make it almost impossible to find a job in Ohio's economy. I have actually heard a lot of complaints as of late. Violent misdemeanors carry M1 which are the worst misdemeanors as well.

In Ohio an M-1 misdemeanor can hold up to 180 days in jail. Typically it is unlikely to see that much time on an M-1 misdemeanor in Ohio. Typically they will hold 30 days over your head with probation. If you rack up M-1 misdemeanors then your time will go up. You can possible get 180 days in jail, it is up to the judge.
