Does deferred adjudication law apply in california and can it be applied to a traffic ticket?

I recently received a traffic ticket and cannot afford to pay for traffic school and the ticket. Since I have a clean driving record I would like to request for deferred adjudication for a 6 month period in order to waive fees and not have it go on my record. Is this possble to request?
