Fla law reguarding work uniforms

After being employed at Fla. Christian Apts for 3 years, the resident manager is attempting to require us to purchase our new uniforms. I have been in the service industry for 30 years, several in apt. maintenance, and uniforms have always been provided. WE feel that if she wants us to look like the staff at her Baymeadows home, that the company should be willing to pick up the bill. I cannot afford an entire wardrobe just to get paint, grease and all of the other things that come with this job. We have untill 2/19 to comply or face punitive measures.
I really need help in this matter.
