How do I find out if I own the mineral rights?

When we purchased the property we bought the mineral rights also. But now we have found that one section of our property someone else owns the mineral rights. They say that when their parnets died all land was signed over to one son but one of the five children kept his mineral rights. But when we went to the courthouse we could not find the documentation that the mineral rights were kept. And if my lease says I own 5/32 who owns the rest, I thought mineral rights were all or none? Thank you carolt63@hotmail.com

How do I find out if the other person owns the mineral rights? And if I cannot find documentation that he kept his mineral rights how do I have them tranferred to me?

Mineral rights can be owned by an unlimited amount of people. Undivided mineral interest owners is very common. To determine who the other owners are you need to contact your county's clerk of court office and conduct a title history to determine who owns the other share (it could be split many ways).
