I am admistrator of my mother's estate. She does not have much money in the estate account. Do i have to pay for her credit cards. How do i deny the claim.

I really want to know if i have to pay her credit card debt. And how do i deny an estate claim. What can they do if they are denied.

Generally speaking unless you are the guarantor of the debts you are not liable to pay them as a relative of the decedent. Many times too insurance policies are taken out with the barrowing and taking of credit cards so you could look for individual policies on credit card detailed explanations. Claims against the estate are another matter and need to be researched. If you feel a claim is legitimate you can pay it through the estate, however, if this matter is unduly draining the estate see a probate attorney about it.
