I would like to know how to drop my felony charge into a misdemeanor charge?

I'm still on probabtion until March of 2009, I've paid all my fines, done everything the courts had ordered me to do, and stayed out of trouble. I would like to know how to change my felony into a misdemeanor? Who do I see about going to court and doing this?

Thank You,

Hanging on to what hope I have left.

You or your attorney should have attempted to negociate a plea to a lesser charge (ie: plea from the original felony to a lessor or misdemeanor charge). Can you advise if this was done. If not, you may be out of luck and may be stuck with the felony conviction on your record.

You may want to research this with the attorney who represented you on the case. You may also check to see if your jurisdicition has a public access judiciary case search search engine on the internet that you could access free of charge to research this information.

Your not going to be able the change your felony for a misdemeanor. I understand that you have stayed out of trouble and paid your fines but that does not change your charge of a fenoy once convicted then it stays on your record. Wish I could give you better news.

I really appreciate your answer moose01. To give you a little more info on this situation, I don't remember exactly what was bargained about dropping my felonies to a misdemeanor. I had a public defender, just release out of jail and now 3 years later, I've successfully done everything that was court ordered. I know my first felony was dropped down to a misdemeanor and my probation officer told me it was possible for the second one as well. I guess I'll have to take your advice and use that database if they supply one.

Thank you once again.
