In the state of North Carolina, does an employer have to pay for unused vacation time when someone quits their job?

My wife has quit her job. She has two days of vacation pay left from last year and has 13 days of eligible vacation remaining for the current year. She has quit to accept another job. Does her current employer have to pay her for her unused vacation? We live in the state on North Carolina.
