My car was hit on my property by an unknown person on the adjoining rental property. Is their landlord liable for my deductible?

His tenants have previously run into my fence causing damage which they did repair. The damage to my car is $2400 which my insurance company will handle, but I don 't feel I should have to pay the deductible, I think the landlord should be responsible for his tenants and any damage they cause to me. Is this a possible small claims case?

I share the driveway with the rental property landlord. My half of the driveway is paved and this is where the car was parked when it was hit and damaged his tenants/visitors.

I can't think of a legal theory taht would make a landlord responsible for a motor vehicle accident of his tenants. One would think the perpetrator car would have some damage also. Other than some detective work, or an admission from a tenants as to who had an accident that night, I think you are in the same place as anybody else would be with a hit and run. ( one lawyer's opinion, sorry) Think of it like this, say you had 200 units apartment complex, and everybody had to share driveway and parking psaces, a person comes out and finds that either another tenant or their guest must have hit your car; the aprtment corp, would not be responsible for the driving habits of tenants or their guests
