YOU need to find a REAL GOOD LAWYER and MAKE SURE IT"S not with the court system on a regular bases they tend to cuddle a little to close in theses kind of cases if you get my drift? Surely he doesn't think he entitled to much after all he really was thinking with the HEAD.. you take care of you and let the attorney take care of HIM.

My question concerns community property in the state of La.
Twenty years ago my husband got some barmaid pregnant I did not find out about till a year later when the women called my home to ask for money. She left town shortly after she found out she was pregnant and the baby could have been three different men's child. My luck my husband was the father. He started paying chid support right away and payed until the child turned 18.I forgave him and we remained married. I caught a couple of months ago having an affair with a coworker. We tried to work it out for a couple of weeks but he couldn't deal with my anger and hurt so now we are in trail separation so he can figure out how and with who he wants to spend the rest of his life. Can the money over 50 thousand dollars he paid out in child support be considered against what our community propety settlement would be should we get divorced?

We are getting divorced and we din't go through the courts. When he saw all of the evidence I had against him I filed ans he let me write the property settlement. I got the house, car, 8,000 in cash, everything in the house except his personal possesions, my 401k.I let him keep his 2 motorcycles and 10,000in cash and our Ameritrade stock portfolio which since then is worth next to nothing. I let him have his 401k also. Just so his family wouln't think I was the bad one. He has lost their respect and the love of his 2 grown children who will not speak to him. Divorce wiil be final in a month. I am having the time of my life doing what I want when I want with whom I want, which since Thanksgiving is a 34 year old I met through friends. I'm free and loving it. Everyone who sees or talks to him says that even though he is still with the girl he doesn't sem to happy. She can change his diapers when the time comes I could care less. Not to bad for a fifty year old.
