Need help getting my property back, and legal fees paid for if a lawyer is needed.

The court awarded me the computer in the divorce settlement, my ex had 30 days to give it back in good working condition. 30 days has past and she will not give back the computer unless i sign a form that states it is in good working order before i test it out. The decree states " The above referenced computer shall be furinished to Defendant no later than 30 days from signed Judgement of Divorce in good working condition." The judgement was signed Jan. 16 2008.

If I have to get my lawyer involved how do i get my legal fees pay for by her? What paper work should i file, and could i really do this myself? My Ex is a paralegal with axcess to 3 or more lawyers 24/7. I do not have that same luxurary.

Yeah its not even worth it. Get a new computer buddy. When my wife and I got our divorce we didnt even care who got what because argueing about items tend to cost more than items itself because of laywer fees. Let it go, just sign the paper save yourself a head ache.

I can see why she wants you to sign that it is in working order, so that you can not take her to small claims court stating that it was broke when you got it. You want it back and she wants to give it back why make this hard, make sure it is working and sign and move on. if you want to make a big issue out of this legally and want to pay to take her to small claims court to get it then do it. The judge may not make her pay the court cost over this because it is kind of silly.
