No Lemon law?

I have just recently bought a car from a person, The car ran for less then a day, and started to overheat. The person we bought it from fixed that, then less then a week later it broke down and is now not running at all. The person refuses to help with any repairs, even though at the time of purchase we were ensured that the car was in great shape and would run fine for some time to come. I have heard there are no laws for this kind of thing where I live, Tennessee, So does that mean i'm now stuck with a car that I bought a week ago that no longer runs?

It is my opinion, that without a written warranty, you will now be stuck with it, because without a warranty, it would have been sold "as is".

I don't think the lemon law would cover this one, but you can always double check. This site has state by state lemon laws http://lemoncarlemonlaw.com/ . Good luck to you!
