North Dakota Mineral Rights

Having inherited some mineral rights along with my siblings in North Dakota I have acquired the portion that was left to one sibling. How do I get this recorded peoperly. Also, can other people file for a persons mineral rights in North Dakota and legally be awarded them?

My Mother also has oil rights in Bismark North Dakota but has lost the paperwork showing her rights as an inheritance. Do you know how she can get these documents replaced?

Gayle - It's hard to provide a "going rate." There are quite a few factors that dictate the amount paid per acre while leasing, location being the biggest. Were you approached and offered a lease? If so, I may be able to offer you some oil insight if you're interested.
