Can you get a relative or someone else to get their stuff? I would give them notice by leaving a message on their phone PLUS contact anyone else that you know that knows them so you have proof that you've tried to contact them. Give them a week or two and let them know at the end of the time you will have to give it away or something. If you talk to anyone, get it in writing and record every time you have tried to contact them.

Most states have a required holding period that must elapse before property is considered abandoned. You'd have to see what laws apply where you live.
