Power of attorney

My grandfather is 73 and his in laws have power of attorney over him. my grandfather wants to move in with my mother and they wants to hold him from going with my mother. the thing is it's another of money and land involved with this and my mother doesn't want anything from him she just want him to come and stay with her . My grandfather has stated that there has been alot of abuse with his in laws. What is the first step because we stay in Louisiana and he stays in Mississippi and i have called Southeastern legal service and they haven't give my anything to go by but to go to Mississippi to find and attorney. What steps i need to take?
