Root damage

My redwood tree's roots have expanded onto my neighbors backyard and is lifting up thier concrete. They want to build a deck in thier backyard and want us to pay for demolishing of the concrete adn removal of roots, are we liable?

I'm going to say that you are not liable since it is in his property. but they may try and make you pay for it anyways.
