Spousal Maintenance and nonpayment

Re: Minnesota/Spousal Maintenance and Non-Payment

Dear Sir or Madame:

My ex-spouse deducted $350.00 from my spousal maintenance this month which he is ordered to pay a total of $2,300.00 per month in the divorce decree and signed by the judge.

He said he took it off from payig a credit card listed in the divorce decree as marital debt. This card is solely in my name and was used to pay for his business expenses while we were married. (I know, I should have put it in both our names. I also know I am responsible to the credit card company for this debt).

However, is this credit card still considered marital debt according to our divorce decree and how does the Court see this issue?

Can he reduce my spousal maintenance payments for paying a credit card or for any other reason?

Is there a remedy for me with regard to this issue?

Thank you,

Valerie
