Time share

We owned a time share for over 15 years and no longer can afford the fees, (they are too high) and now a special assessment, if we give the time share back can we take it as a lost on our taxes

Do you have a contract on the time share? if so, you may not just able able to give it back. I'd ask a CPA that question.
