There isn't much you can do. the expired license is something that you can't do much about.
and jumping the red light is your word against his.

Traffic Ticket for red light jump!
I got a red light jump ticket in SAN Francisco on Feb 16th for 400$. Today when I went to court to get a citation copy I came to understand that I had a 2 month old expired license too. Now I got a citation for expired license and a ticket for red light jump. How do I get out of this mess. I have to face court on 24 April 2008.
Help me. I am a first time offender caught on the wrong foot.

I agree. Usually they will drop down the fines if you are a first time offender. Just do what they ask of you (driving classes, etc.). You can also see if they will let you make payments to the court if the fines get really expensive. It sucks, it's honestly just one of those things you have to chalk up to the old live and learn. Sorry to hear about it!

But let me update you.
I got my License validated in before going to court .
In teh court they just asked to see my valid license and then they handed me the choice for jumping red light. I took the class and fine which cam eto 82$.
