What is my husband wants a divorce and I don't?

My doctor has determined I will be unable to return to work because of a work related injury and other health problems. My husband wants a divorce because I cannot return to work. We have been married for 22 years. What are the rules for alimony in the state of Mississippi? If I refuse to give him a divorce, what happens? I have been advised by a friend who is not an attorney that I will not have to hire an attorney but simply show up for court and inform the judge that I do not want a divorce. I have researched the grounds for divorce in this state and he has no grounds. Thank you for your quick response.
