Tendonitis is the inflammation, irritation, and swelling of a tendon. It can occur as a result of injury, overuse, or with aging as the tendon loses elasticity. Any action that places prolonged repetitive strain on the forearm muscles can cause tendonitis. The most common symptom of tendonitis is pain, tenderness, and the increase of pain with movement.

Ruchele is right.

My aunt has had this exact problem for the past few years (she was a tennis player).

To help with the pain there are a few things that you can do. Regular exercise (swinging of your arm, extending and bending) will be of great benefit to you. Start with just a few minutes a day then try to work up to doing this for five minutes several times a day. Gentle exercises like yoga and tia chi are really good for people with tendentious.

Diet is important too. Try to avoid foods that have additives, chocolate, refined sugar, concentrated sweeteners refined oils, and regular bad-for-you processed junk foods like hot dogs, pizza and nachos.

Talk to your doctor to see if a regime of asprin could help with the inflammation as well. Check out Ruchele's link as it looks like it has a lot of good resources.
