Yes it is imporant to put your children or someone on your deed to your home. The law sates that the names or name that has been put on the deed has to be on at least five years prior to your being in a home. If you go into a home within that five years then the state can take your home. It use to be three years. The reason for this is because alot of parents do this just to save their home. When you go into a nursing home then you would have to apply for medicaid, your medicare will not cover your long term stay in a nursing home therefore they will look at all assets of the parent or parents. So hopefully you will get this done and stay in good heath and not have to be placed in a home. Sometimes a person is never placed in a home and I hope that you will be one of those people.

You should go to Family court asap and file a petition to make sure you get child support and include that question in your petition. you aren't married so rules may apply. you make the first move before it's too late. TIME IS OF ESSENCE.
