What steps can I take to present testimony from a key witness who's out of town on the day of the hearing?

My key witness left town today to attend his brother's funeral in Louisana. He will not return home until July 7th and the hearing is on July 2nd.
A lot of the claims the plaintiff is making can be disputed by his testimony.

Perhaps you can ask for a written testimony, see if they can reschedule or have him on the telephone during the trial.
