How long does a veteran has to be married in order for their spouse to collect their benefits?

Their is a certain amount of time that a married couple has to be married, that a spouse can collect their benefits...

Generally once they are married they start to recieve them. The medical, dental, commissary, ID card, etc.

And sadly, if its ends in a divorce, you must be married for at least 10 years to claim half of their pension or pay. However, the children can recieve benefits until 18 years of age and in some cases, like mine, until they are 23 if enrolled in college

What about if you are only married 4.5 years and ends in divorce? Can the stepchildren claim their benefits and still go to college even thou I was married less than 10 years? Thank you
