Tattoo's in the military,

I have my name in chinese on the back of my neck below the collar, the recruiter said it may be a disqualification. is there a waiver I can get for that? It'snot hurting anyone affecting the way I perform, not insulting, or have anything to do with religen. any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Regulations have changed with everyone wanting to walked around with body art and some branches have waived their own requirements under exreme circumstances. What branch and your ASVAB scores is also a determing factor. I can tell you you'll never make it as a recruting poster nominee and the tat may cause disqualification into some schools. If your tat can be hidden without any special wiggling on improper wearing of a dress shirt or uniform coat, you might be able to sneek by but be prepared from some DI to single you out for some gentle harrassment

It'll be really tough getting in with tattoos these days because of the influx of recruits that are trying to get in the military. The military isn't short handed post Sep. 11, 2001. It's just a numbers game and maybe it'll change, so start looking for some waivers.
