This guide at http://fadedgiant.net/ is designed to be concise and easy to use. This is its major limitation: Book condition information provided here is limited and may be incomplete. Since book condition is a crucial factor in the value of old books, we the Faded Giant Price Guide should be used as merely an indicator of the approximate market range of an old book’s value. Do not be surprised to find a wide range of sales prices for books that appear to be almost identical in state and condition. This is not an exact science. Don't think in terms of a single, specific value for old books, but think in terms of a value range. You could also try going to http://www.whatsitworthtoyou.com where you pay a small fee to get an appraisal of a variety of objects. You can check the appraisers credentials on the website before you decide to send in your ten dollars. They use a photo and description to do the appraisal so like the other site it will give you a range of value. Any book that goes to auction can hit a good day or a bad day so prices will vary by the audience's wants and needs and how well the auction house contacts potential buyers.
