Are red light cameras legal?

Looking more for is it legal for a city to be the police jude and jury in this instance.

Sorry this slipped past me the way it works if the city passes an ordaince the camers are legal ==personaly i think it's is entraptment but if someone ran that light and killed someone it would be worth wile

Problem I have is this plate is registered to me and my licenses could be in jeporady. But is a municipal, government or business plate gets photographed, then they can ignore the ticket because an entity does not have a drivers licenese

If the vehicle is assigned to you you bear the primary responsibility just because it is a municipal vehicle does not let you off the hook if it was used with out your knowlege you may stand a chance take it to court however as long as it is assigned to you you bear the responsibility as far as the person not having a license you then have two violations ==no license and running the light i hope this helps
