How This Works?

Can anybody tell me how Jason Swesnik died?

I know only that he died October 31, 2005 in New Orleans. It was approximately two months after Hurricane Katrina. He was 32 years old. He worked in the French Quarter. To my knowledge he did not relocate. He may have participated in victim's aid-related projects within the city.

Halloween in The French Quarter after such a tragedy may have had something to do with his death; maybe not.
Obituaries I have found say only that he died suddenly. There is no mention as to the cause, not even an "as a result of". I initially discovered the news via a note posted by a friend on a local NOLA social site. It was basically just a blanket notification to anyone who knew him. Again no details.

Q: Did anyone on here on WebAnswers possibly know Jason at the time of his death?

Q: If so, can someone please provide more information regarding the cause of his death.

Q: Why have there been no details posted?

Thank You

Hi there. I looked at the obituaries and found the same that you did. Usually when the obituary says "suddenly" it will mean either that it was an unexpected death (as in he hadn't been ill or anything like that ), that he had been in an accident or simply that the family does not wish to disclose the infromation for whatever personal reasons they may have.

Thank you for answering my inquiry. I understand what "suddenly" means when it comes to obituaries. You are absolutely correct that is suggests an unexpected event, and yes, it could perhaps be the family who chose not to disclose the details. I was just hoping someone who knew him might still be able to put a little closure to my loss. I certainly have no ill will, I have just been so curious over the past 5 years.

Jason was my best bud, I miss him dearly. I actualy just finished a short film in memory of him, I will be posting it on youtube soon. Jason had relapsed with intravenous drugs in the overwhelming depression he faced in the wake of losing the the thing he loved the most...NOLA. Sadly he never came back. There isnt a day that goes by that I dont think of him and mourn the loss of a very unique person and dear friend.

Thank you so much for responding. I kinda figured it was just that way... but it helps clear up the mystery and, as they say, give me "closer". Thank you thank you, I look forward, really looking forward, to seeing the sort film. I'll look for it on youtube... maybe you can let me know when? He was a very unique and a very special soul.

The film was too long so you tube denied it! sorry! I will find a way to get it out there. If you know of a online venue that supports 12 min or longer let me know!
