Can I dye my carpet in my camper?

We recently bought a camper and the owners before us did something to the carpet. The carpet looks bleached out in spots. I need to know how to fix this.

Do you wonder why nobody has answered your post ,well this is a real tricky question,i know that you may have already remedied the situation, the question is tricky because the answer depends on weather or not the carpet is dye-able, what color the carpet is ,is the bleached out spot caused from a chemical, or is it a light area caused from wear or sun fade? note that trying to dye the carpet may cause more damage than just leaving it alone, and it may be easier to just have the carpet replaced. that said i will assume that the carpet is dye-able because you have lost color(bleached out spots). i will also assume that the camper has a tan or brown carpet . first things first clean the carpet with a neutral cleaner detergent, did more spots appear? if yes clean again with just water than move to spots. if no ,move to spots you will need some baking soda and a small amount of white vinegar, sprinkle a small amount of baking soda on the spot and gently rub in ,then spray a couple of sprays of white vinegar on it ,it's going to react with the baking soda , rub gently . when reaction stops ,spray some water on the spot and extract with wet dry vac,or carpet extractor what ever you have. if you have some pH paper you can check to see if the spot is neutral(6,7 on pH paper) then you will need a light brown dye mixed in a spray bottle( you should hardly see the brown in the water 1/8 tsp dye to 1 quart water) spray on the spot ,and vacuum up repeatedly until the spot has a brown ting to it , then mix the dye a little darker and repeat. do not make the spot darker than the original color of the carpet, when it looks almost the same stop and let it dry. it is not easy to get the same color ,knowing the color wheel will make it a little easier ,but note that once you make it too dark , it will look like a dirty spot. if the spot is yellow it was caused by bleach or urine or vomit etc. if the spot is white it was caused by soap and a defoamer will be really handy during the cleaning process.sometimes two different colors are required to get the right color(color wheel) also if the carpet is old and wore out and you dye it you will end up with old and wore out dyed carpet.
i hope this helps good luck.
