Car insurance

I was trying to get a quote from a prominant insurance company and was turned down because of my credit history. Can they do that?

Yes, they could do that. It's like any other business agreement such as cell phones, etc. They are checking to see if you will be a high risk for them to take on as a client. Each company has their own standards by which they will accept new clients or not.
