Disabled children

Hey, ...im doin a scholorship essay having to do with issues facing disabled children and i chose the subject of friendship. Certain attitudes, such as pity, create barriers to forming relationships with children with disabilities. What other attitudes do you think create walls between children with disabilities and those without disabilities? How do you think those barriers be broken?

All input is welcome....

I have a child with sensory intagration disorder. It is very hard for her to make friends with other children. She mostly plays with kids who also have disabillitys. I belive that some times children without any disabillites are not as understanding.
