I am looking for information on how to become an EMS dispatcher, and what training is required for such a job. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Contact you State health department and ask about EMD Training (Emergency Medical Dispatcher) They should be able to provide you with all the information you are seeking.

Generally what will happen is you will go through some tests to see how proficient you are in listening to info and taking notes as well as keystrokes. After that, they will do a background check and after that, you'll go through an interviewing process. Pretty much the same across the board, though some dispatch centers want you to have some First Aid knowledge for certain situations.
