False Representation

I contacted DirectBuy because of an article given to me by a friend. The reason for contact was to set up an appointment to see their showroom. I rode my bike and took the bus to their showroom, about one hour. Upon arriving I was told by the interviewee that I would need a $40,000. annual income to qualify for membership. I am on social security and am far from that salary. I left very upset because there was no information of that nature when I made the appointment. How many others has this happened to, FALSE REPRESENTATION? Do I and others have any recourse?" I was humiliated in front of the other potential members."Oh we're sorry, sir".
