For all the regular, reliable experts here..

Is it just me or is anybody else bothered when someone pops in, answers one or two questions with totaly uneducated, un researched answers, then pop out never to be heard from again? And what is with the "will I get a girlfriend" type stuff like we are psychic? Or am I just having a bad day?

You mean unresearched, as in made up responses that have no basis in this world or any other world?

Like stating the answer to your question is the Color Green?

Lol - yeah it can get frustrating when they come and post ridiculous answers and questions, but it's funny for us regulars to see these kinds of questions! I especially like the relationship problems, where they ask the same one about 6 times, 6 different way - all in caps. But you're right Ruchele, if it was all serious we wouldn't have as much fun.

I love this site - I can try and help people and get a good laugh at the same time from some of the more fun questions! Thanks for the rant - we need those every now and again!

I get a bit frustrated with the one-of questions as do I get tired of all the same questions asked in different ways. Same with thos who don't pick an accepted answer after awhile. I was really taken aback by the response yeserday from Artria when I gave what was I thought a very valid way for her to create something fun for her brothers and sisters and I was told it wasn't "LIKED OR APPROVED" in all caps. So now of course, I'm going to annoy her without mercy suggesting that everything she need she can make herself.

Of course, now I can see that one thing you might want to address on this site in internet stalking or posting stalking. I'll turn myself in to the webanswers authority right now for intent to stalk.

I enjoy posting on this site though and I think as this gets bigger, we'll see a wider number of postings, more categories and more one-of questions.

I think thats what we really need to be filtering is multiple posts from the same user asking the same question. The system should kick out double posts, leaving only the original. My rant was really about one particular person answering question that they obvioulsy were to ignorant to be answering lol So, my rant for the week lol and FYI, Jodi, Mtn, Sid, love you guys you keep it real and do your research and I like that a lot.

This is good . . . excellent post Ruchele!

It sounds like there are a few frustrations and it's good to learn and understand everyone's opinions. I agree Artira’s response yesterday made no sense, especially considering Mtnrescue response's was extremely valuable. Why should Artira be quick to judge especially considering she asked the question? So let me ask, what should be done in this situation? Do we ban Artira, remove postings that make no sense or just ignore and realize these types of postings will naturally occur?

We want to create a community of users where we can grow and learn from one another, share knowledge, and most importantly have fun. If you are not having fun, what's the point? Additionally, our goal is to help users find solutions to their questions.

Yes, as Mtnrescue pointed out, there seems to be many related questions as well . . . and while answering these very similar questions may be tedious, many users feel their circumstance is unique and want a response to their particular situation. Regarding duplicate postings, we are working on a fix right now.

What else? What other suggestions do you have? How can we make this community better? What other features would you like to see? And what do you dislike about WebAnswers?

While I may not like Artria's posting (and I'll certainly mock her as often as I can and I thank the others who have risen to my defense, esp. Jodi) I think that's not something we want to have controlled on here unless it becomes really inappropriate. The strength of the community is that others - as we've seen - will point out when someone's reaction to a response was unwarranted.

Good point jreberry about uniqueness of questions, though I find it tough to beleive that such a high percentage of users has this many chronic pains and sick animals - but hey, I could be wrong.

You will always have the internet problem of people flaming each other, etc... You need to be careful about how you all act with regards to this, especially picking on users, no matter how valid you may think that is. You will then run the risk of turning this into a clique and what you don't want other people doing, you will then do yourself. Endlessly making fun of someone is not the point you want to make and will get old. Not sure what the right approach is as passively ignoring or deleting posts may not be good either.

Yeah - I agree that we shouldn't ban people because we don't like their post, obviously unless it's really inappropriate. Maybe a system where a moderator could send a polite note to the user. Everyone has mentioned Atria, which we have no idea why she singled out a perfectly good answer, but she still provides good quality answers to some people and has contributed a lot to the community. I think we can all agree that if this system was all tax, health and algebra problems we wouldn't be so addicted!

Great feedback!

We need to be open and allow users to be able to act as they wish. We can't expect or ask for certain behavior. Not everyone wants to research their own questions, that's ok. If they ask a question and never return that's ok too. Some questions are ridiculous, but so what? If WebAnswers starts trying to control the content, it ceases to be useful.
