Free Tax e filing

Recently I read an article that the Intuit, TurboTax websites etc...had been charging customers for efiling thier tax return even though they made under $52,000 per year. I have been efiling my tax return for the last 10 years and never made anywhere near that amount and I have been charged for the efiling, my question is that this year I have made under $10,000 and want to know how I can avoid being charged this efiling fee. Also is there any recourse to getting my money back for the years that they have been charging me. I read this article in my local paper here in Lehigh Valley PA, The Morning Call. Can you help me witn this?

I don't know if you can, they can charge you for using their program. And if there was a free one to use, you had to probably use the free one instead of the one you did. I don't think it is worth pursuing.
