If your seed is put in at the top and eaten from the bottom instead of putting seed in it you could put sugar water as a replacement if the holes arent higher than the eating area. This will attract a lot of various small birds ecspecially humming birds. The squirrel wont like the taste and leave it alone. Then after the birds are used to getting their daily portion of sweet water and the squirrel leaves just use replace the water with seeds, and badaboom the birds eat the seeds and you squirrel problem is finished.
