How do you prepare your pet for the cold?

As the mercury drops and my heating bills rise, I find myself grabbing my winter coat more often before stepping out for a walk. That got me thinking about how our furry friends cope with the colder weather.

I think being sensitive is the best thing you can do. Pay attention to when they are cold and don't leave them outside for too long. Notice when they start to shake. Also take notice of the kind of dog that you have. A lot of smaller dogs don't have undercoats to keep them warm and really do need those pink rhinestone sweaters :)

If you're dog can't handle the cold, keep him inside or get another dog...
