I have a Luau Party every summer. This summer will be my 3rd. The 1st was for my baby sisters graduation, the 2nd was for my sons birthday and this year I want to dedicate it to the memory of my grandparents.
So far everyone in my family is ok with it so I am going to go ahead and make the plans.
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as far as the 'memorial dedication' part.
One thing that I want to do is ask everyone to bring photos to share.
I also intend to show some old videos that I have.
I want it to be a sort of family reunion as well.
Anyone have any ideas?
How can I word the invitations? Do you think it is ok to ask everyone to bring their photos?

How did you come out with the cousin and the house note ===ask them to a picture reunion of the past ---luau party and the funniest one gets a prize and the ugliest gets a prize ==in other words prizes for different catagories

It is a memorial for my grandparents who are both gone, I don't think funniest and ugliest is appropriate.

With my family you better have a sense of humor even a wake would be a party half of my family was from the hills of east texas the other half from new orleans we always celebrated life when you look at your parents , brothers and sisters ,and your kids you see your grand parents aren't really gone but all around you ====sorry i have never been accused of being overly sensitive and do not mean to offend

I'm not offended, just figured you didn't understand what I was talking about. I get what you are saying though. We are buring my grandfathers ashes this day as well so at first it may not be something to joke about and show ugly pics of.
