Mandated Drs Appointment from employer

Sisters employment is mandating her to go to Couseling do to work related issues. They are not picking up co-payment for visits which are out of her health care network. Her out of pocket is up to $1000.00. She is already having financial problems and this is putting a lot of extra pressure on her

Question is, if work is making her go and telling her if she does not go it could be grounds for termination, shouldnt it be her employements responsiblitly(or union) to pick up cost.... She works in the medical field and is also in a union (which are not helping her)

Thank you in advance for your assistance regarding this matter.

That defiantly sounds like an issue to take up with HR. Unless her problem is considered dangerous to patients or co-workers, and unless she signed something at the beginning of employment (a contract that had this situation in the terms) that she would have to pay for. I would check with HR - it's their job to figure this out. Good luck.
