Over 17,000 dollars............

I just heard that if you pull over $17,000 or right at $17,000 you won't get anything back from federal or state. I was just wondering if this was true due to our family still being at a low income status. How does that work??

You pay taxes based on your total income, and most employers withhold money on your behalf for tax purposes.
